Custom WordPress Development
Custom WordPress development for themes, plugins, forms and integrations, so you get a site you can manage yourself.
I provide custom WordPress development for businesses that need more than a basic theme: custom themes or child themes, plugins, forms, and third-party or API integrations – built so you can keep editing content after launch. Based in Surat, India, I work with clients locally and internationally who want reliable WordPress code without unnecessary complexity.
Sometimes an existing plugin is the right answer. Sometimes you need a small custom feature that fits your workflow exactly. I help you choose that path and then build it cleanly. You can read how I decide between a custom plugin and an existing one in my post Custom WordPress Plugin or Existing Plugin? How I Decide.
The WordPress platform itself is open and well documented on WordPress.org. My job is to use that foundation for your real business needs – not to bolt on every plugin under the sun.

What’s included in my custom WordPress development service
- Custom theme or child-theme work aligned with your design and content model
- Custom WordPress plugins for features that off-the-shelf tools do not cover well
- Forms, validation, and notifications that match your sales or support process
- Third-party and API integrations (CRMs, payment helpers, booking tools, and similar)
- Admin-friendly setup so non-developers can update pages and settings safely
- Code comments and a short handover so future changes are easier
Who this is for
This is for you if a page builder alone cannot deliver the behavior you need, if plugins conflict or feel bloated, or if you want a feature that should live as clean custom code. It also fits teams who already have a design and need someone to make WordPress implement it properly.
Common problems: “we need a custom form flow,” “this integration keeps breaking,” “editors are afraid to touch the site,” or “we inherited a messy theme and need something maintainable.”
How I work
- Talk – We clarify the feature, who will use it, and what success looks like day to day.
- Plan / quote – I propose approach (custom vs existing plugin), scope, and timeline.
- Build / test – I develop and test on a staging or safe environment before anything goes live.
- Handover / support – You get documentation of how to use the feature and optional follow-up help.
What custom development looks like in practice
A typical project might be a child theme that matches an approved layout, a small plugin that syncs form submissions to a CRM, or an API connection that pulls inventory into WordPress. I keep the surface area small: one clear responsibility per custom piece, so updates to WordPress core do not turn into archaeology later.
I also watch for plugin pile-ups. Five overlapping form plugins or three SEO tools on one site usually create more support work than they solve. Part of custom WordPress development is saying no to extras that fight each other, and yes to the few building blocks your editors will actually use.
Custom WordPress development FAQ
Will I be locked into hiring you for every small change?
No. I aim for solutions editors can use from wp-admin. Custom code is for the parts that need it; content stays editable.
Do you only build custom plugins?
No. If a trusted existing plugin fits, I recommend that. Custom work is for gaps, unique workflows, or lighter alternatives to heavy stacks.
Can you work with my existing theme?
Often yes, via a child theme or targeted templates. If the parent theme is too fragile, I will say so and suggest options.
Do you handle staging and updates carefully?
Yes. I prefer testing away from the live site when changes are risky. See also my notes on using a staging site before plugin updates.
What about security and coding standards?
I follow WordPress development practices: sanitize and escape data, use nonces where needed, and avoid hard-coding secrets in the theme.
